Apply for Chapter and National Scholarships before April 14th

NATAS-NCCB Betty Endicott Scholarship

We are now accepting applications for this year's Betty Endicott Scholarship recipient. Both full-time undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Applicants must be studying for a career in communications and/or broadcast journalism. Scholarships will range from $1,000 to $5,000 (not to exceed $5,000), depending on the number of scholarships awarded. Deadline to apply is Thursday, April 14th. Apply now!


Eligibility Requirements for Applicants

  • Be enrolled in an accredited two or four year college or graduate program in Maryland, Virginia, or Washington, DC

  • Be a full-time sophomore, junior or graduating senior with a declared major in communications or broadcast journalism

  • Be a full-time graduate student in pursuit of an advanced degree in either communications or broadcast journalism

  • Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • Demonstrate an aptitude or interest in communication or broadcast journalism through coursework, extracurricular activities, internships, jobs and volunteer work

National Scholarships

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences offers several scholarships to students.

Applications for national scholarships are now available and are due on Thursday, April 22nd at 5:00pm EST. There is one standard application for all scholarships. Students select which scholarship(s) they believe they qualify for and provide the same set of core materials for consideration. NATAS Trustees and officials with the National Scholarship Committee will review applications and creative works along with participation from Univision Communications Inc.


Application Requirements

  • School name, address, and website are required and an advisor name, phone, and email are optional.

  • GPA

  • One example of creative work which includes the location and student's role. You also have the option to upload three video files and you may list up to 10 additional creative works or work experiences without video files.

  • Career Aspirations Essay (100-250 Words) Describe what you would like to do upon graduation from high school. Indicate which colleges or universities you would like to attend and your reason for their selection. Also indicate the kinds of employment you hope to obtain once you complete your college education.

  • Creative Essay (200-500 Words) Which continuing television program, past or present, has most influenced your life and why? (Be sure to select a multiple-episode program, not a single program or mini-series. Also, do not select a newscast or news-oriented program such as 60 Minutes or Frontline.)

  • Some scholarships may require additional essays or information
